Letšeng Diamonds mine officially handed over Egg Circle Projects to Thialala Egg Circle Association at the event held at Thabang in the district of Mokhotlong on 23 July 2026.
Thialala Egg Circle project is one of the flagship projects supported under Letšeng Corporate Social Responsibility & Investment (CSRI) programme. The two Egg Centres were built in Thabang and Mapholaneng in 2021. The infrastructure includes guardhouses, warehouses, chicken houses, electrical connection, water supply and palisade perimeter fences. With Letšeng’s support, the Centres were able to sell chicken feeds, trays and packaging boxes to the farmers. The sales of these items started from the 2022 support. The commission raised from the sales was aimed to assist the centres to sustain themselves and cover operating costs.
In 2025 additional support comprising 1600 point-of-lay hens and 1600-day-old chicks was provided to Thialala Association to promote sustainability, increase egg production and improve sales performance.
