Letšeng Diamonds Pty Ltd invites tenders from suitably qualified local and international companies for the support of a shear zone, which has become a rock-fall high risk area in Cut 4 East, of the Main Pit. A drapery system, using a more durable Geobrugg mesh (Minax 80/3) being the proposed support material for this area. This is due to big boulders that are expected to fail, as a result of the shear zone block forming structures exposed.
This is an open tender for the slope support works of a rock-fall prone area, in Cut 4 East of the Main Pit. The work includes barring of loose rocks, as preparation for support works, and making safe the support area, drilling for the mesh anchoring, joining the drapery mesh, completion of any other activity that might be relevant to this support work, as assessed and agreed with the client.
The installation of support will be carried out in accordance with the Mine’s safety standards, ultimately ensuring the delivery of a safe passage, or access for both production equipment and pit personnel. The support work will be subjected to independent quality assurance assessors as per Letšeng’s practice for such projects.
The ideal company to be finally selected as preferred bidder should demonstrate strong technical reputation, robust Health, Safety and Environment management system, demonstrate experience and understanding of the scope of work, and be financially competitive.
