Letšeng Diamonds, through its activities, has the potential to expose persons to health and safety hazards. We commit ourselves to continuous improvement in our operations performance, efficient use of natural resources, zero harm to people, property and the environment.

We undertake:

• To develop, implement and maintain a management system for health, safety and the environment.
• To implement and maintain a hazard/aspect identification and risk/impact assessment (HIRA) programme to enable us to identify, assess and manage risks associated with our people, processes, property and the environment.
• To investigate any safety, health and environment issues in order to protect and prevent injuries, illnesses, property damages, process losses, to prevent pollution to the environment, and to maintain energy conservation in our operations.
• To comply with applicable and appropriate health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and other relevant requirements and standards.
• To involve employees and/or their representatives in gaining commitment to the implementation of safety, health and environmental standards and in exchanging information through SHE Committees.
• To provide information, instruction, training and supervision to all our employees and contractor employees in order to make them conversant with inherent risks.
• To develop our people by providing necessary resources to meet our targets.
• To provide a framework for setting and reviewing safety, health and environmental objectives and targets.
• To communicate with and engage employees, contractors, business partners, suppliers, visitors and other interested parties to take responsibility for meeting the requirements of this Policy.
• To monitor and report on performance to stakeholders, as required.
• To review this Policy annually, to ensure its suitability and relevance to the organisation.
• To make this Policy available to all stakeholders upon request.
