Letšeng Diamonds conducted the Needs Analysis Survey in the District of Mokhotlong (the primary community), and based on the identified needs developed Letšeng Diamonds Corporate Social Responsibility & Investment (CSRI) Implementation Strategy. Projects were identified in relation to the most affected communities in Mokhotlong to the less affected. From the high level strategy Letšeng extrapolated an implementable Corporate Social Investment Strategy (CSIS).

The intention is to develop a strategy that would result in material impacts on the community and not only be sustainable during life of mine due to the low human resource demand of the mine but also well beyond life of mine.
